ecu question

Post by dennisvs »

Hi All
Finally this weekend the engine will build in.
Got all the stuff except for the ECU and MAF.
Does anyone knows the difference between the kl03 ecu and de klze ecu?
It is no problem to get the ecu for a kl03 but will it work just as fine.
If so than I just use my VAF and the kl03 ECU.
I believe that it will work but will I lose power than?

it will work but mx-3 ecu will work better then the kl-03 ecu
u want the full potentail i would get the kl-ze ecu it improves your gas mil and feels better then the other ecu's
proved it was faster too went to the track ran all three the kl-ze was 2 tenths faster with kl-ze ecu

You should use the kl03 ecu and the kl03 air sensor, or the klze ecu and the klze air sensor. Klze ecu's are stamped KL31 or KL36.

- KL36/KL31 ECU (for the ZE) needs to be matched with the JE50 VAF.. (from the MX-3)
- KL03(DE) ECU (unsure of part number) needs to be matched with the KL02 VAF..

Just for the record, is that KL02 VAF a typo for KL03 VAF? (Meaning KLDE?)
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)

- KL36/KL31 ECU not matter if its a eunos engine or een mx-6 engine?
Mijn is with kl31 1a1 heads and kl01 cams.
(eunos800)
still need the KL36/KL31 ECU than?

from my investigations.. the simple explanation is this..
the things that determine what ECU you require are your VAF, and your IM (VRIS points)...
KL36/31 ECU + ZE IM + JE50 VAF = good A/F, good VRIS.
KL36/31 ECU + ZE IM + KL02 VAF = bad A/F, good VRIS.
KL36/31 ECU + DE IM + JE50 VAF = bad VRIS, good A/F.
KL36/31 ECU + DE IM + KL02 VAF = bad VRIS, bad A/F.
KLxx ECU (for DE) + DE IM + KL02 VAF = good A/F, good VRIS.
KLxx ECU (for DE) + DE IM + JE50 VAF = bad A/F, good VRIS.
KLxx ECU (for DE) + ZE IM + KL02 VAF = bad VRIS, good A/F.
KLxx ECU (for DE) + ZE IM + JE50 VAF = bad VRIS, bad A/F.
hope this helps..
@ds
