KLZE ecu and VAF

Post by davidosk024 »

I read in a post awhile ago about the KLZE
ecu and the KLZE vaf.
From what i can tell after the swap and with
spare vafs and ecus laying around...
the K8 VAF is the same as the KLZE VAF (according to parts numbers this is)
the ECUS are completely different.... in your exp.
what works best with the KLZE VAF?? the KLZE ecu? or the K8 ecu?

Unless it is the KL62 KL-ZE ECU, from a Eunos 800. That Ecu will not run a VAF it is designed to run a MAF.

eunos 800 needs a MAF ?
So klze from eunos = kl-ze ecu and eunos800 MAF ?

Potential for confusion. From what I've been told, the engine will run with a MAF or a VAF as long as it has the appropriate ECU for the sensor. But the MX-3's harness is built for a VAF, so you have to use a VAF (and therefore the ECU for a VAF).
If that's wrong, I'd like to know, please :)
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
Extra thick soundproofing in the boot (trunk) to quieten my stainless steel exhaust system :)

that is correct from my understanding Ian..
the ECU and the sensors go hand in hand.. as does the ECU and wiring harness.. as does the wiring harness and sensors..
so.. if you want VAF, you need VAF ECU, VAF wiring harness.. and guess what.. a VAF sensor!!
same goes for MAF.. you need MAF ECU, MAF wiring harness, and a MAF sensor...
I've not heard of any MX-3's running a MAF, I think maybe the wiring harness would not suit.. not 100% on that one though..
@ds
