I dunno, but I imagine it's not cheap.

There are some guys on Probetalk that state they PP intakes. However, what they are doing is PROBABLY basic stuff that is not supported by flow bench testing.
There are also some people stating they PP heads for a coupla hundred bucks. I would wager they don't have access to a flow bench either. They're probably doing some rather basic port matching and minor valve bowl work.
The last time I was curious about port work was after reading a great article about a small block Ford making some 350HP with heads from a well known shop. I called the shop and they wanted $1400 for port work identical to that in the article....I supply the heads. Needless to say, I didn't get it done.
Like Ryan said, it ain't cheap to have it done by a professional shop. And if the quote is cheap, then you can bet it is NOT being done by a professional with access to professional equipment!

Hey bro i'm takin my klze(before its installed) and getting it ported and polished at a shop that specializes in race cars, etc. and they do bad a-- jobs on my friends race car. They are doin it for $500, I think most places would do it for around that if you talk to them.

First of all pelado knows his $hit!
I know first hand that it cost me $2500Can ($1570.US) for a basic rebuild/and clean up of the heads and cylinders.
Maybe Lance you might want to double check and make sure the shop knows that they'll be dealing with a 2.5L V6 Direct from Japan and not some 4cyl Honda engine. I just don't want you to get burned like I did. :)

bro there use to dealin w/ big block chevy's and dirt track race cars, the my little ol v6 shouldnt be a problem. sorry you got charge $1500. plus if worse comes to worse, i got to an auto-tek school and i'll just have the shop do it, so im all good either way.

The rod ratio is atmospheric compared to what they're dealing with and they are gonna screw it up. The guys you want to look for are motorcycle head specialists..thats the best youre gonna find.

If someone has something smart to say - listen.. when you know as much maybe your have something worth saying too.. An whoever said that a motorcycle place is the best is right, I had my old Mitsi FTO ported an polished with everything matched and they did a better job than anyone else I've heard of, not cheap but quality isnt always.

I have to agree motor cycle performance engineering shops are the best place to go for this type of work. Some of them most likley are familar with doing jap import cars, this is the case with my uncle's well known shop in T.O. they use to only do bikes but now have converted mostly cars. The reason is that they make bikes so fast and powerful from the factory that the demand for engine beefing up has dropped, but it has moved on to import cars.......I hope this was helpful
