Supertrapp?

Post by slogar »

I'm considering an exhaust mod for my '92 GS (its now stock). I'd like something different than the typical Civic crowd. And the Pacesetter looks too much like the Daytona exhaust on my '76 280Z. Anyone out there have a Supertrapp muffler? I like the fact they are adjustable in terms of loudness (louder equals high-end hp but less low-end torque). How do they sound? Comments good or bad appreciated.

Well, I knew someone with a supertrap exhaust, I didn't really get how it worked, but it sounded like a typical straight through exhaust system, I'd suggest magnaflow as a lot of mx owners go with them, good quality too, also they've been trusted for quite a while. They've got many different styles of mufflers. I've seen supertrap on a lot of harley motorcycles too, I'd go with a straight through muffler, maybe dual tip. By the way, have anything cool done to the 280Z?

Thanks, I'll check out magnaflow too. For a brief tech explanation on the Supertrapp, see racepartswholesale.com (click "Supertrapp" on left menu, then "Technical Information."<p>BTY, my Z is pretty mild--no engine mods but lowered/Tokico shocks, urethane bushings, 2.5" exhaust(no cat), K&N filter, Crane coil/NGK wires.

By the way, the car I heard it on was an mr2 (n/a), just in case you were wondering, thanks for the link, I'll check it out. I like the older 1 gen z's, used to own a 240Z for a while, and my buddy had a mint 280zx but ended up selling it for an mr2.
