Post by vseved »

Hi,
I am very serious about swapping my 1.8 V6 to the 2.5 V6 KLZE engine.
Does anyone know an engine importer in USA,Canada that would ship the engine to Europe?
Thanks for your answers.

You should be able to get the KLZE from a junkyard over there. Perhaps you could find a grey import version of the car that carried the KLZE. Check here for more info. :)

Thanks, I'm a regular visitor of Probetalk, even registered there. This Faq is very useful.
Have you ever heard of http://www.infinitemotorsports.net/, they sell KLZE engines for 1300 $. I wrote emails to some other known sources and I am still waiting for all the answers.
But here in Europe we only get the "normal" versions of Mazda engines. I know this for sure since a friend of mine is a chief mechanic at a local Mazda dealer. He also worked on race prepped 323 GT-R when they were popular in rallye racing in the 90's.
One of the most respected Mazda mechanics around here. Even works on RX-7's (3rd gen).
Now a friend of mine, who buys wrecked Mazdas, is selling really cheap (200$) a 2.5 engine from a 626. But the engine was waterlocked or something, since both head gasket blew and compression on all six cilindres is equal to zero. I am not sure if just replacing the head gaskets would solve the problems. I am afraid that connecting rods may be bent. This would be very expensive to repair.
Damn, 3 months ago I missed a Xedos 9 (Millenia) which rolled on the roof in an accident, which was sold for 2000 $. I would have more than enough spare parts.

ZE's have made their way quit a few places. There is a couple in Puerto Rico and a number in Euorope. I know a number have come from the states. Try to find one closer like David said though...
Be carefull with rolled over cars. When the engine is upside down the oil no longer sits in the oil pan... I'm sure you see my point. If the car was sitting there running, not good. :)
[ March 17, 2002: Message edited by: Sonic ]

I got an answer from nippon motors. They ship to Europe :-)
KLZE for 1100 USD + shipping. We will see.
Before contacting importers from the USA I tried to get some
answers from UK. Lots of used cars are imported there from Japan.
(Both have right hand drive cars)
But no positive answers. The market for used engines seems to be most
developed in Unites States. This has also driven down the prices.
About rolled over cars. The engine usually stops running when the
car turns upside down. I rolled over my first car, about 10 years ago.
I only had to pump out all the oil from the cylinders and I drove it
for another 4 years without problems.
