Very Stiff Short Shifter

I installed a B&M Short Shifter this weekend and it is really stiff. Can I loosen some bolts or does it just need a break in period?
94 Mazda MX-3 BPT Custom Intake/Exhaust T3/T4, 51mm BOV, Tial WG, 2.5" Piping, 880cc Inj, Godspeed Intercooler, TEC II

the bolt on the bottom of the shifter is probobly too tight
try loosening it a little until it feels right
