No. You don't get 'shielded' wire. The 'shielding' only makes it even more likely the interconnect will pick up noise. 'Shielding' only helps reject RF noise, and RF noise is out of the audible range of frequencies. It may help with video cable, though, since it uses higher freqencies. You want unshielded, twisted pair interconnects to prevent noise for audio.Originally posted by Team Urban ArtFX - Percy:
Get 2x or 3x shielded wire and try to keep it away from big power wires on the run back
OK. Live in your sheltered fantasy life and spend $100 for your RCA's. Believe all you want. Just don't spread BS to the other forum members if you have no idea what you're talking about. Yes RF frequencies get into the wire. RF frequencies are over 20KHz, so you can't hear them moron.Originally posted by Team Urban ArtFX - Percy:

RF frequencies do.
Nothing else can get in unless the wires are grounded out.
and yes a twisted pair works very well but it's not the best.
Why do you think the more exspensive car audio RCA's have twisted and 4X shielded ?
Take a look at rca's that range from $120.00-500.00 a set.
I been an installer for 13 years and a master installer for 4 years so I think I would know.
Those are fine. Even cheaper, the Lightning LSIX. I've used the LSIX on a few installs with good results. Lightning also sells a full power wire kit that inlcudes a set of LSIX interconnects. http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/LITSXCK4
