first install !!

Post by Ryencool »

im so excited. after hearing my bros new 02 civic stereo I decided that my car needed some tweeters to clear everyhting up when hte bass is goin ( no subs ). However I do turn the volume loud enough to where it drowns out some highs. So I won some pioneer tweeters off ebay, brand new, 20$. I know nothing about stereos , wires, mounting, anyhting. However I managed to cut holes in my doors mount them very very snug, and hook them up to my system through my wires to the front speakers.. I know this will send bass to my tweets, but the head unit im using is new ( also pioneer ) and I can send all the lows to the rear and highs to the four fronts now. It sounds so so good. My nieghbors must think im crazy sitting in my car for 15 min at a time listening to music...just wanted to tell you guys of my first install experience and how it went, to show others it can be done if you have little knowledge and lotsa drive...amps and subs to come next when I got the money ;)
took me damn near an hour and a half to get the first hole cut in haha
Ryan
[ August 22, 2002: Message edited by: Ryencool ]

Oh! I get it! We're NOT talking about the topic, right? I was worried for a second there.

Now that you've done that it shouldn't be too hard to put some bass blockers in line with your tweats, or maybe a 2-way cross-overs. Then you'll be able to get cleaner sound, and reduce the apparent load on your head.
