Removal of the Storage slot under the deck

Post by GMGQ »

How? I checked the online manual, and it talks about all the pieces around it, but no mention of that slot itself.
I heard you just "yank" it really hard?? TIA

yeah, that slot is hard to get out.
It has 2 strong clips one on either side. You need to pull hard to get it out, also I managed to push it from behind which helped.

when i did mine to paint my panels, i just bent those metal rail things and yanked the thing out. to put them back in, i did the reverse of the installation. it took me a damn hour so i got pissed and just bent the damn stuff. it acts as a negative for the radio i think. iono. maybe not. try to keep it touching the radio if you can just in case.

I did it, thanks.
At first I was just struggling with getting a good grip on it to yank it. But then I took out the faceplate frame for my deck, and noticed I could see the top of the slot thing, and managed to push it down a bit to unhook the top tabs, and tugged at it a bit to unhook the other tabs.
I did this cuz I just got a new alarm system, and the shop put the immobilizer LED in there (red). So I just took it out and swapped it with a cool BLUE LED. Works like a charm ;)
