Mounting Amp/subwoofer more securely

Post by Andrew_Pakula »

A little while ago I posted how my car was broken into and my Amp and Subwoofer stolen, here is the link if you want to read about it.
My question is when I go to replace the amp and subwoofer in the spring, can anyone suggest a better way or better spot to mount the amp that would make it more difficult for someone to steal.
They only took the amp and subwoofer because basically they just unplugged and dissconnected it. They left the CD-changer because it was under the passenger seat and the face plate was not there so they left that as well.
Would mounting the Amp under the drivers seat be a better idea?
As for the Subwoofer box, any ideas how I could make it more difficult for them to just dissconnect it?

when you mount the amp again make some covers for it to blend in with the stock carpet or soemthing. Also for bolts or screws use a different style, like hex heard or bolts and bolt it down good.
I know theres security screws u can buy that need a special driver to put them in. :)

Maybe I'll bolt it down then because it was mounted behind the back seat before, even if I used security screws I'm sure they could ripp it off if they wanted to since it's only the back seat.

if you want those sec. screws [irl]http://www.selectproducts.com[/url] has them. you might be able to pick up just at couple ur local shop. hex;s are the best suggestion. if you bolt ur box onto ur car, most insurance companies will cover it if its stolen again.
Looking for a 94+GS for KL-ZE fun :)
