best subs

Post by EricDem »

The best subs to buy are JL audio. The w3's and the w6's and the way to go.

I agree with OpticOn in the sence that JL is s---. I would definatly go Solo Baric L7, Pioneer VCCS, or Kenwood dB+ (Orion makes the BEST subs, but the price sure does reflect that)

well, i gotta put my foot down. jl audio is one of the best companies out there in car audio. orion xtr's, kick L7's, eclipse, alpine R's, image dymanics, juggernauts and digital designs subs are great also. jl audio has produced subs that will compete extremely well among their competitors. most JL's require about 100 less watts to perform as well as these other subs. i agree that JL is not god, but they deserve respect. in the end, jl subs aren't too pricey(minus the W7 series) and save the owner money when it comes to getting a smaller amp than they would have. don't diss jl audio, they've won plenty of different comps. they have nothing to prove.
mind you the install is the biggest factor with in a system. box size, port tuning, direction etc. are gonna make your sub hit, not pushing 1000watts to it in a box half the size it needs.
Looking for a 94+GS for KL-ZE fun :)

You know, being from Oklahoma and 45 miles from the Kicker Headquarters where everyone has Kicker and its spread to even here you would think I would be one of them big Kicker fans to. Well I dont know why people say Kicker is all that great. If you want to find out which the best speaker is, goto the competitions. Ill be honest with you. Everyone here is either into Kicker, Orion, or Rockford Fosgate. I didnt even hear about JL Audio untill I started going to IASCA comps and DB Drags in other states. Every other car there had JL Audio. Now if every other person has JL Audio don you think those most be good speakers? I think everyone has thier preference (mine is MTX Personally) I love thier sound, thier company, and they can kick some serious butt in National Competitons. I just dont know why everyone raves on Kicker, yes they are great subs and for the price its good and all, but I dont see them as much as JL Audio in competitions.

I just registered to say that THERE IS NO BEST SUB. Depends on what you want, some Subs like MB Quartz, Focal and AVI are great great SQ subs, and some others like DD, CV Stroker etc are great SPL subs.
All depends what you want and what enclosure you have the subs in, so for future referenc there is no BEST SUB, depends on what your needs are.
As for brands, JL, Kicker etc, they are all good.
