Should I change my alternator

Post by Brainless »

I'll be getting 2 sub and I noticed that the alternator (60 amp) from my car (1.6l sohc) seems to be pretty week. That guy at the garage said it was working perfectly so I was thinking of putting a better alternator. Any thoughts??
------------------
Brainless
93 Red RS
geocities.com/j_micho (last update 07-09-2001)

Well, first of I would go with a capacitor. It works like an alternate battery. Your battery charges it, and then your amp runs off the capacitor rather than the battery and the alternator. If with the power cap your lights still dim when your bass hits then an alternator will be the next thing to get. Remember select your capacitor with this ratio in mind: 1 Farad = up to 1000W.
Hope it helps.
~Ryan~
