I have lucas additive in my gearbox, I like it.. It was like molasses when I put it in. I think that it was actually the engine treatment stuff that is in mine. I find it really good.

Check this out. It will properly scare the crap out of you regarding Lucas or other similar oil additives...

If you must add something, consider Militec-1. You can read all the testimonials and test results you'd ever want to see here http://www.apdinc.com/Milstart.htm. I can vouch for apd. They are located in my area, I've checked the research, talked a lot with the owner as well as use his products and he is a totally anal fanatic (my kind of guy) about lubricants/additives etc.

The ECU may be wiggin out from the conversion. I have not done a mazda conversion so i really cant say but the ECU's are diffrent between the two.

Unless your going to swap ecus i would suggest removing the hold light from the cluster. This will involve remoing the cluster but once its out just twist the bulb and it pops out (IIRC).

Follow the cable to its source. If its a electirc sensor bypass it. either way follow it to its source and find a way to remove/bypass it. =]

i dont just want to get rid of the bulb, i think it might be messin with my engine...because i dont have a steady idle at all...it jumps from 700 to 1500 rpms...its so annoying..and i did swap ecu's when i swapped the tranny.

What engine is in your car? If it is a SOHC, you may have givin your car the infamous idle syndrom prematurely. If you switched ecus for the MT, then you should run correctly. However, it might be possible you need to manually adjust your idle after the ecu swap. Going out on a limb with both of these ideas, so you might want to try the second one first since it is free <img src="http://img68.photobucket.com/albums/v20 ... hild40.gif" alt=" - " />.

Good luck

What is the infamous idle syndrome? My idle is jumping around, and I was hoping that I'll cure it when I do my BP swap since I'll be replacing and cleaning up the MAF and everything else.

I hate to tread in. But I have a 95 w/ 167K miles. I always use lucus products. My car doesnt smoke, doesnt tap, has the same power it always has. Tranny is doing well too. Especially for an auto w/ that many miles.

Dunno, maybe you're the "exception that proves the rule?" Or, could have to do with the way you drive (sensibly, or not a lot of long highway miles?) or, the type/brand of lubrication fluids you're adding Lucas into might have enough anti-foaming properties to compensate? I get paranoid at bobistheoilguy's test though. Have a friend who unknowingly overfilled his oil (by 1/2 liter) once which caused "crank whip" especially at highway speeds. His oil became aereated on a highway trip, the air bubbles caused enough loss of lubrication at high speed that he threw a rod. His engine was otherwise meticulously maintained w/only 23K miles on the odometer. He cried. :crying: Sorry, we probably shouldn't have jacked this thread...

Sounds like it's time to pull any ecu trouble codes occurring to see what really gives.

I use mobile-1 drive clean as my oil, forgot what I used in my tranny....

I cant say I baby my car, and Id say 80% of my mileage are all highway miles.
