i heard that j-spec engines are illegal is this true and if it is why? [img]shrug.gif"%20border="0[/img]

emissions. i would doubt that they're illegal just illegal for street use other wise they wouldnt be able to import them here. but its dumb cause thats what everybody puts them into is daily driver cars. i just think they look the other way. but im sure a cop would more than gladly give you a ticket for havnig a jspec engine. but i will say that iot depends on the cop. the local police here come and hang out with us and hes like nice motor. so its just where you live i guess.

The guy i bought my mx from imported a jspec. and dropped it in the car just before i bought it. But I had never heard of them being illegal?

what makes them so good? why are they suck a big important engine? [img]shrug.gif"%20border="0[/img]

They usually have more horse power than the north american engines, like the 2.5 v6. (160-170 here and 195-200 there).<BR> Also japan has some engines that we never got like the 1.8 4 cyl 210 hp turbo engine from the 1994 323GTR<P>The only consern is with emmissions, if your state or province dosnt do emmission testing then you dont have to worry.<P>If your area has testing then all you have to do is keep your catalitic converter and hook up you EGR valve so it works and everything should be fine.

what if your klze dont come with an egr or there is no place to hook up the egr.what shoud i do cuz im getting check engine light.

they dont come with egrs, you need to swap the rear manifold/egr to the klze and then hook up the egr solenoids, fun huh?
93 Mx-3 GS klze swapped(sold)
96 Integra LS DD
91 Crx Si drag car
2.0L sleeved gsr block, forged internals, skunk2 valvetrain, HP racing intake manifold, Holset H1 turbo, 1000cc injectors, short geared lsd transmission, 3" turboback exhaust. 20 psi :)
