MSD 6BTM installation...

I'm getting a MSD 6BTM ignition and Blaster SS coil for my BP-T and I just read a bunch of MSD treads that say you have to get the MSD tach adaptor to get things to work properly. Since I don't care about the rev limiter(or want to deal with wiring it), and only need the Boost Retard and upgraded spark, can I just NOT connect the Tach Output? Will the ignition work if I don't wire the Tach Output?
