1.6L aftermarket

Post by projectmx »

Are there any internals available for the 1.6L such as pistons / cams / cam gears / pistons / rods? I know there are no headers specifically for it and there is a list of t.b.'s you can swap over with a tiny bit of work. Would any of the internals from a 1.6L miata work?

yeah Miata Internals for the 1.6 should work fine as the differences in these motors are very minute

the cams work but u need to switch em so the miata intake wil go on the exhaust side of the mx-3...& the exhaust side of the miata will go on the intake size of the mx-3

I think thats only for the DOHC model. The SOHC was never offered in a Miata and will not work with Miata cams.

yes; BUT the gasket. you have to find out if the gasket will fit. i had a problem with the head gasket on my turbo engine. some of the miata blocks dont have the two oil jurnals on the exaust side of the block, and our BF block does. you have to make sure that the gasket has two flaps that stick out on the exaust side, or you will have oil all over the place when you start it up.
