BOV, injectors, fuel pump questions

Post by Gkreator »

I'm no real mechanic but can do regular maintenance. I'm want to learn more about my engine and have often wondered where to locate the BOV (Blow Off Valve) as well as the Injectors. I know some upgrade the injectors to the 1.8 Miata injectors but if they are bigger then what do I need to do for that upgrade and what is the benefit and gain from doing that?

Also, I would like to know more about doing the TurboXS BOV upgrade. Where can I find the parts I need for that and what all is involved?

For the WALBRO 255 FUEL PUMP, are there different types that I need to watch out for or are they all the same? Which Pump do I want and is it basically just a swap out for installation?

Any help and advice, thanks!

remove the unnecessary lighting on your car and then swap in a turbo motor, then try asking the question again.

how do diamond floor mats come in rolls? :confused2:

Your car is stock?
You wont have a BOV, a BOV is one of the many Aftermarket parts you would need if you had a turbocharged engine, along with larger injectors and a larger fuel pump.
Unless your planning to do the B6T or BPT engine swap, or even a custom turbo setup on your stock engine, then you wont need any of the parts your asking about.

I'm going to try electronic ram air and a nitrous kit. It is suggested I upgrade the fuel pump to accomodate which is why I'm asking. If the custom supercharger doesn't work out then I will look into making a custom turbo. And this will all be done on my stock engine. The injectors sometimes stick and was wondering if the miata injectors will fit on a stock engine or not.

After doing a lot of reading up on the electric Bilge blowers, I seriously doubt they will work and therefore have decided to purchase a Zex dry nitrous kit and focus on the real deal. However I have already oredered the blowers so I might as well just experiment to see what the fuss is all about so I know 1st hand. I doubt I'll use the blowers after everything I've read, so it will be a learning experiment before I trash it. I'm more interested in making a custom turbo so any info/recommendations on that is a plus.

You seem like you are quite able to experiment on you side.. but might as well find some useful information.

Don't say you know about turbos before you haven't read Maximum Boost from Corky Bell. Buy it at Amazon.

Sad thing you have buy that electronic fan or blower. You might try it, but be aware that the plastic inside isn't resistant enought for the hot pressure that may be present.. The plastic might let go, and go into your engine.. (Ok ok, i'm not that good in english ;) )

If you want a custom turbo.. as a 1994 owner, you should have the 4 cylinders DOHC engine. You can bolt a 323 Manifold, and his turbo..

So some searches in the Force Induction forum..
