1.8L Stroker B6?

Post by NateDog »

as i have researched, the mazda miata has the same engine as our car, however its different due to the fact its a RWD layout. in 1995 there was a 1.8L placed into the miata... now i am wondering sence the engins are from the same family like the b16a and b18c honda engine. can i take the crank, arms and pistons and build a 1.8L stroker b6 out of my 1995 DOHC B6? is it possable? has any one attempted this? sorry for any re-posts... i know i should have done a search... and i didnt. i thought this would get a reply faster than a search on my computer. (its hella slow)

You can do it but not the way you were thinking of doing it. TODA makes a stroker kit for the B6, approx $3000usd.

Yeah i dont know the url though.. If your looking for a easy swap that miata motor you refering to is the same in the 90-94 protege lx and the 91-96 escort GT. Has a mildly hotter cam and a tad higher compression. but its a 1.8 and jesus it hauls bauls :D

TODA Racing<p>
Not worth it? That depends on your point of view. The BP that I am collecting parts for will have FM's 2.0L stroker kit, $3500usd. FM's car makes serious power with minimal amounts of boost. I guess I don't think twice about spending $15000 on an engine and its peripherals. Some people complain about spending $700 on a turbo, GT-series are double that.
