Jebus show me the way!

Post by Franko »

OK, so there comes a point in every young mans life when he thinks to himself "my 1.6l soch 4 banger is not putting out the kinda ponies that I want" So I have to do something about it.. I cant take this engine anymore.. I realized the other night when I was racing around with some integras and another v6 precidia.. and I couldent keep up at all.. I need to swap the engine... what will fit into an mx3 and I dont want to spend a million dollars on parts either I just want to be able to keep up with the guys with the v6's.. what are my options here?? I looked into getting a 4 cyl out of a 626 but will I get the gain that I want from that? Someone show me the way! :p

if you don't wanna go turbo just get a bp out of a ford escort gt or protege gt
or you can get a j-spec one like me cause it has hell of alot less kms on it
they have about 127 hp

Ok at least now you realize your R in RS isnt for really fast...its for really slow!!! hehe, but seriously, if you want a cheap swap do like he said, get the engine out of an escort GT. This didnt really happen, but for now lets say it did ;) One night i was cruisin along in my GS, intake and exhaust for performance mods as of yet, and this escort GT pulls up next to me..i have no idea what he had done to it, well if this really happened i had no idea what he had done, but he revved on me so we both took off...I'm thinkin this is a freigen Escort, come on !! well, he beat me...it was by like a car length too before we quit...i was quite ashamed...moral of the story....That engine is pretty quick!! I'm not sure of the weight differences in the escort and the mx-3, but u should be hangin right along with us V6's.

so the escort engine... will that just bolt right in? do I need the transmission with it? or will the one I have now do? Like what exactily do I need to do the swap? just the engine or everything under the hood. Money is kind of an issue right now.. I dont know weither to paint the car or swap the engine.. What do you all think?

Im not positive, but i dont think you will need the harness. If you ever get bored use the search function, and put in "bp" and see what comes up..thats what i do sometimes, if im interested in learning about something i go to the appproiate forum and run a search and just read through old posts. Try it, u may have fun..

it's just better if you get it
it'll be cheap if you get it with the engine

I dont think that there are any escort gt's here is my problem... Do you think that I should try to convert to v6 and some guy said that I should put an engine out of a civic in my car.. I have a budget of basically $2000 so I have to do this as cheap as possible.. thanks for your help guys..
