BPT or what?

Post by maniacle_mx3 »

Should I get a BPT engine to replace my 36k mile DOHC 4 banger or should I go to a junkyard and get some stuff off of the BPT engine? I would buy one but people say if you have dohc then you could get blah and blah off a bpt and use it on the 1.6 dohc. I wanna know what the bpt is and where could I het a better turbo from.
Also, where would I be able to get an IHI turbo from for the corksport manifold. I wanna turbocharge my car but don't know what to do. Please help!!!

what they are referring to is getting things from the b6t which is very similar to the 1.6 you have know. the bpt never came to usa. you have to import it. both are going to be great starting points whether you go b6t or bpt. i chose the bpt cause i wanted to have a better starting point. but it all comes down to motive. are you just wanting all out power or do you just want a little more pep in the mx-3. im going to go for power but im gonna keep it considerate for now.
b6t=132 150=jspec b6t
bpt=180 bpt gtr=210. very hard to find though.

just look in the 4cyl faq and i promise youll find out all the info you need for the bpt at least. then check chris malden site for the info on the b6t.
