Lash adjusters

I am having a hard time with my lash adjusters. I have removed them twice and pumped them up with oil, but they are still hitting really hard. There was water in the engine, so maybe that is the problem. My machinist said to run the engine at 2K rpm's for a couple of minutes, and then let it idle for a time, repeat until they are quiet. This seems odd to me. The lifters should get quiet quickly, and yet they are not. Any help please. Thanks

next time you take them out, use a chemical engine solvent on them, then fill them back up with oil. Fixed mine [img]shrug.gif"%20border="0[/img]
