New kind of engine for a swap

Post by agreatguy »

I was reading at the sportcompact car website and i found an article about the 2003 mazda protege. They said it will come with a 2.0L Turbo! and i was thinking to myself, Arn't the mx-3 and protege build on the same base or whatever? could this be a possability for a engine swap, a brand new mazda engine instead of looking around for a BPD. Its supose to get something like 170hp, what do yall think? Here is the link I found.

What I wanna know is.What is the difference in our(1.6L) engine compartment compare to a 1.8L?Its said that in a 1.6L,you can only put a bpt and in 1.8L,you can put a ze.I thought the car didnt change in size beside small diff. in interior and small changes in engine specs.
