Supercharger???

ok, so I have read alot of these posts about swapping engines and i was wondering.....for those of us not looking to get that deep in elbow grease, would a supercharger help out at all? I know that they do raise HP, not as much as a new engine but I don't have the knowledge to swap a engine and it seems like a cheaper option??? Has anyone tries this??? I've heard that Jackson Racing is the place to go but I see that they only offer a supercharger for a miata...would it be compatible??
