Cruise Control Woe.

Post by 92MX3GS »

My woman's cruise control in her 92 GS doesn't work. The light on the indicator lights up, but when you try to set the speed, it won't work. Is this a common problem and hard to fix? Info, cost, etc are appreciated.
Thanks guys/gals!

check fuses related to cruise control (if any) and from my experience it sometimes takes a longer press of the button (on steering wheel) than you would expect to activate it.

the ecu takes awhile to pick up that cruise has been activated. wait 3 secs for the system to activate, then press the button down for a second.

I've checked any and all fuses. The indicator lights up when the cruise button is on, but I've held the set button for various amounts of time with no luck. Maybe there's a short somewhere or the actuator is bad. I didn't know if it was a common problem or not. I guess it really isn't. Thanks for the info guys!

I'm not sure, but i think i read in a post before about this that the little round thing on the passanger side of the engine compartment is the cruise control , and that vaccume line needs to be pluged in for it to work: Heres a pic to make things easier.
Image

yeah mine works sometimes but doesn't work others. i think that it may be the set/accel button on my wheel isn't making a good connection because i found that if i push it just right it will work.
