The crossmember and some other things could be protected by sheet metal. I was thinking how awesome it would be to lighten up the fron subframe when I was curling it the other day. It could lose 35lbs. and still be functional.
Hmm.. is CF really that shatterable? What about if it was coated with a hard non-metallic resin?
Yes.
In my opinion, in order to make it strong enough to hold up in those conditions, it would weigh more than a much cheaper material that would hold up better.

You'll have to PM Oscar, E_Z_4FUN I think is his "handle". He is a very busy chap and you may be waiting a while. What product are you interested in. Some members here have CF things that they aren't using, or no longer need. Maybe put up a WTB in the "Wanted To Buy" Section?

You know..............I never did like the carbon fiber look.....................

I can understand lowering, nice wheels and a ze but carbon fiber..........................or painting the interior..............takes away from "the car"....let the mx-3 known as it is.....................................awesome! .. anything phoney makes it.........not right............LOL.........sorry....my opinion ONLY!

Just had to get that off my chest..you know......LOL

I've made my own thread for anyone gauging more interest in this. I have made some progress and spent a ton of money trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. Working with certain fabrics/techniques is a real pita, but I am still willing to make a few things and see what happens.

Just an update. I do have a mould for the upper radiator support made and have resin infused two as of now. I'm still working on them though.
