3/16" is what was recommended by the place that supplies the material for windshields, and rear windows. Also, the place that is doing the shaping said that it is the thickness they use for windshields. Not only that, but it is an arc, which is the strongest shape. The stuff is very tough to bend, so I'm not concerned at all. Also, as mentioned in this thread, it's the same material, and thickness that Ice Racing used for 2 seasons, and his was not heat bended, so it's under constant tension.

Good news!
From Mooneggs - "Guys,

I just called Geoff at Kent Plastics and here's the update. He has all 4 pieces formed but needs to do the initial trimming and expects to have that done in the next couple of days. He says the 3 that were protected turned out super clear, but the 4th that was not protected has some minor fuzziness/fog near the top and the bottom. As far as the width issue, there wasn't much shrinkage but we only had like half an inch to play with so it's going to be real close! Anyways he says overall he's really happy with how they are turning out."

Some clarification: Cjthor and I tried to bend one ourselves, so we had the protective film off, and we used clamps, and such, so this one wasn't in perfect condition to begin with, and that's why there is fuzziness. It was our test piece, but it sounds like we'll be able to use it.
Geoff (the bender) wasn't sure that the others would turn out perfect, since they were a year old... Even with the protective film, they can absorb moisture, and need to be cured, as to not form micro bubbles when you heat them for bending. Since they turned out great, The production ones will be perfect, since they will be made from brand new material.
WE're going to put them on next week, and post pics. I can't wait! :2thumbsup:

It will depend on how many people can pay a deposit, when the Group buy is started. The more, the merrier! It will be around $400, or less. $98 for the Markolon, about $300 for the shaping. If there are enough people, we can probably get a discount.

I just installed my lexan in my CF Hatch tonight  The formed lexan weighs 17 pounds by itself and including the CF hatch total weighs 31 pounds (with no spoiler or little rear glass).
