My shifter is so bad that it's actually a struggle to get into reverse.

But I have new bushings waiting to be put in so it's all good. If someone made a gate with longer fingers shaped for a short shifter I would be all over it.

I don't have long fingers. Mine are short and fat and an oversized palm. Meh.
What? This is important!

Id much rather the shift gate look like this.
I quickly did this up at work today in solidworks. mind the imperfections.
could be easily machined

I got the Ebay plate today from Rekognize, and will start making a design soon. I already see room for improvement.
I bought a router at a thrift store that wasn't working well, and took it apart. It works fine, now
I'll post up a prototype soon!

I'd rather have one that worked for the 1992 center console, unlike the one that is available on ebay, which only works for the 1994 dash and newer...
I have the 1994 and newer one, and it doesn't fit....(holes in the wrong spot, and the shape is wrong...

Do Want.
I just remembered I thought about doing this a long time ago, and then got side tracked. That happens a lot.
I'm definately keeping an eye on this thread.

I made a gate for my '93, and I love it. However, it can't be made like the graphic above, because our shifters don't have a path like that. It stays within a small box (about 3.5 inches). I like it. It's unique.
Here's the thread:
