I'm stupid and balancing four or more projects, so this might be slow in the coming. But you can all wait a few weeks, right? :P

Okay, so aluminum is a definate bust, but plexiglass is looking really sweet. I'll post pics tonight, I hope.

it's expensive and the part inherently has a lot of waste.

No, it got all mulched and didn't have clean anything. I don't have the right bit, I suppose. It looks like... shife, truthfully. But the plexi has clean lines and is more solid... its also thicker, and easier to come by, and has way more potential... I would have pictures, but my camera access is currently denied....

Heres what I've come up with so far.
Image
All of my prototypes
Image
The messed up melted/welded/massacred aluminum one
Image
The best and hopefully last one. Tach size.

My hopefully final one is off .175mm concerning the radii. I wasn't sure if I had a metric or imperial bit, so I read a 1/8th bit as 3mm instead of 3.175mm.

Apparently, if you want clear ones, a little bit of heat on the plexi makes them like glass. I tried a bit but you'll need even heat, because it warps easily. This could be used to our advantage when doing the final fitting.

One peice fittings would be no problem at this point.

Or something like that.

Haha that aluminum one looks awfully... interesting.

But those plexi ones look amazing. Very nice job. Are you getting close to being able to ship, or still have a bit of work to do?

That's pretty neat! I'd be interested in nabbing a set from you ;)

No, not the plexi glass one, I am talking about the rough, milled, grinded, thrown-across-the-asphalt looking aluminum one ;)

You could do glow in the dark material, and put in a tiny blacklight under the cluster hood.
