Re: Finally getting somewhere on the CF hood project

Post by cjthor »

Been swapping emails with anthony at Financial Vision and He is going to attempt a full carbon hood this weekend. It will be a plain hood. Hopefully if things go well we will know by the beginning of next week.

P.S....If he says no we will have a new hood to ship where ever we need. I kinda sorta have a feeling from Anthony's attitude that he really doesn't want to do this project. Kinda sh^t*y but we just have to wait and see...
[ October 11, 2002: Message edited by: cjthor ]

Thanks for lookin out man. Here is the general email i am sendin....
Hello,
My name is Jarid Perry and I am a moderator on a world wide messageboard called www.mx-3.com We have been trying to get someone to make CF hoods for us for quite some time to no avail. We are a club 3000 members strong and have unfortunately had a group buy for hoods in the works twice before when the companies decided not to help us out. I do have 15 members ready at any time to put money into a buy. If you migh be interested in helping us out please do not hesitate to call me or email me back. For your info all mx-3's from 92-97 are all the same. Once again thank you.

HAHAHA, yur havin shitty luck with this bro. Why don't you just talk to your girl and get me the info I need on the CF. I'll have you a hood in no time. AND you know yur my boy so I just may give you a "finders fee" discount. HAHA, if I do them I won't charge more than maybe $20-$50 more than materials. BTW they would incorperate hood pins unless I get the urge to figure out a better way to make a latch. BUT I will have one next summer, I was hoping this winter, but funding has been a problem for me. :( Oh well.

BINGO!
Mr. Perry,
That is strange. I have reply your email earlier regarding all the terms and conditions of our group buy. Somehow it didn't get to you. I even attach pictures and quality of our CF hoods and location.
Well, you have found the right place. We are a manufacture of carbon fiber hoods. We are currently working with some message broads with group buys.
Here are the terms and conditions:
It has to be a minimum of 20 orders. Because it will cost us too much just to produced one CF hood. Just the molding alone will cost us close $2000 USD to produced. If there is no demand for that carbon fiber hood we don't manufacture it.
You must be responsible for collecting the payment for us and sending us one payment via USPS Money Order.
All orders must be paid in advanced. The first 10 orders will be a little bit slow because our manufacture department would need 7 days time to develop the molding.
The price of the CF Hood would be $249 + $129 Shipping & Handling = $375
Free aluminum hood pins are included which it retails at $39.95.
All items is fully insured to $400 dollars.
All item is ship via Airborne Express ground delievery estimated time of 5-7 days.
International shipping is okay. Please let me know the addresses for the exact price.
If you can agree to the above terms and conditions.--------------------
Howz that sound! I do have the pics but can't post themmm....maybe I will put them on my cardomain page. Cheaper than what we have been running into but need 20 instead of 15.

Sounds like a good deal. Who is the company? Any info on them? Choices on scoops/vents?
Might be interested once the sheetmetal manifold goes in to help with clearance.

Well I have already traded three emails to this guy..Here is his latest reply.

Jarid,
You would be speeding up our process, if you can supply 3D rendering and a stock Hood. If you want a scoop, I need to talk to my manufacturing department. However, we do make vented CF hood. But it will be more time intense and it will be approximately $100 extra.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
John

...first is first, we need to send him a stock hood, wether its gonna be new or used (?), we should try to send him one as soon as possible. That way, hopefully, we should be receiving the hoods by Jan-Feb. (?)

He is in the LA area. Here is another email I got from him just now. The parts with the ** are his replies.
**Mr. Perry,
**Thank you for your nice jesture. I have answer your questions below.
Jarid Perry <mudslinger7785@yahoo.com> wrote:
Hello John,
A couple quick questions.
Does your company have a website?
**Our company website in under construction. It should be G3racingparts.com
Also you said that you have done some group buys with other boards..Do you have the name of the board?
**I can find out, but I do not know from the top of my head right now. But it is for 86-89 Honda Accord.
That way we can get some feedback from customers that you have already had. Having to get 20 peoples full payments people want to know some history and feedback from ya.
**We have only been in the retail side of the business for 3 months. Our main business is that we have been just manufacturing carbon fiber hood and wholesaling it to other vendors. Currently, in the retail side of the business we are still expanding. We are trying to keep cost down and transfer the savings to our customers. That is why our retail customer service is a bit slow. That is why there is only email support now.
I do appreciate your promptness in returning your emails. Its nice to deal with someone that is positive and wants to help. If I can do anyting to help this go smoothly please let me know.
**Thanks for your inquiry. We are looking forward to work with your message broad.
[ October 12, 2002: Message edited by: cjthor ]
