Yesterday night I changed the lower exhaust mani gasket in my buddy's garage.

For S&G I started her up with the header open. Daaaaaauuum that was loud. I never knew my car could sound so aggressive. It sounded MEAN! I'm almost in love with it and wonder who would complain if I drove around like that. Also, my MAF is for the 1/6 so it runs super rich and it shot a little flame and did that awesome popping backfire thing...

Sigh.

When all was done, I see another leak just after the cat

I also got in the fresh wiper/signal arms, the brakes are fixed, rreverse glows installed, coolant flushed again, (I'm running pure water untill it stays clear for a week at least) oil changed, and tires rotated :)

I haven't updated this in awhile.

My wheel nearly fell off.

I was ripping s---, like usual, and I got a light clunk that followed the wheel speed. I figured it was axle, and didn't pay much attention. Got it up on jacks, and it sounded pretty bad. It got progressively worse, and I was listening to loud tunage (Sick Puppies - You're Going Down) and took a corner, and BLAMO I feel this terrible jerk and the car shakes so bad I think its going to roll. I get out and look around, it looks okay. Get in, and idle in 1st gear down the shoulder. I feel like I'm riding a merry-go-round at 20kph. Peek my head out the passenger window, and my front tire is doing crazy wobbles. I stop, jack it up, and TAKE THE WHEEL OFF WITH MY FINGERS! Call the GF, because she stole my tire iron. Later, she almost gets T-boned because her 03 civic's PS pump is s--- (tell your friends) and she couldn't clear the highway because it kicked on her, and the other driver had 4 wheel lock before skidding onto the shoulder to avoid her. Crazyness.

I honestly think someone was screwing with me, because I hadn't taken that off in a LONG time, and I would never take only one off, and the other was tight. Also, there is no reason that I wouldn't have tightened it. I have an awesome torque wrench, and I love using it.

I de-badged, and added a zoom-zoom sticker, and an MX-3.COM sticker, and put in a protege fuel rail with ford fuel harness, and ford injectors. Fresh 02 sensor, and 1.8 DOHC VAF (U code) and my mileage STILL sucks. (500ish/tank? and I drive like I stole it 24/7)

Compressions reads 120-125 through all cyls (super low? what the heck? I just hope I did it wrong)

Fresh tires, it runs quieter now. Need to put in springs and get alignment.

Replaced a headlamp.

I'm just a little bummed. Stupid mileage. I'm commuting 80 minutes round trip 3 days a week all winter, and I need that mileage.

I'll add some pickytars, whenever I have time. Everyone likes pickytars.

Oh! I found the key to stopping the fuel system from spraying everywhere when changing fuel stuff. Loosen the gas cap!!! Takes all the pressure off the system. But beware, the high pressure side (rail side, not FPR side) will still spit at you. Gas hurts eyes, pull it off with a big rag around your hand.

Yes, we love them. I think if you're ripping around constantly, with a modified engine, 500kms/tank sounds pretty damn good. When I rip around I get maybe 250. If I'm lucky.

So, its time to annouce I wrote off my baby.

I was driving... and then I saw a culvert, and up was sideways. I have no memory between A and B. I wasn't on anything, and I wasn't feeling particularily sleepy. didn't have the noddies either. I'm going to see neuologist, actually.

The bad:
I crossed the oncoming lane at highway speed, hit a culvert at unknown speed.
Had it happened at nearly any other point in time, I could very well have had a head on and died.
I wrote off my baby:(

The good:
I get a fresh start with cars, and respect for driving.
I got my car back, plus 2.2k to get something else on the road
I'm starting the V6 world. DE is coming in spring. Check for worklog!

Here she be:

Surprisingly, aside from the alignment being terrible, it still runs and drives. The splash sheild on the driver side rubs, but I have the bumper and fender off already. Also, the bottom rad hose rubs on the PS pully.

The car COULD go back on the road, if it wasn't for the A pillar damage... damn culvert.

I WILL BE PARTING HER OUT, THERE WILL BE A THREAD SOON

Guess the whole car is a wraparound now, not just the spoiler, you'll have an extra few hun to play around with when you sell the BP. And start swappin parts you need, and sell the ones you don't. I'm very glad to hear you are okay, and are going to see a doctor to find out if there's anything wrong. A lot of us are nuts, but healthy.
