Yea, just a lil bit.

Big big big thanks to Aaron for some body work to get the car ready for the show in June. This is what started out with picking up a spare transmission for the motor swap and saying sure to fixing a crack thats been hiding under the side guards for the past year. Well once we started, it just kinda went from there... After about 5 hrs of work one rear quarter is about 110% better than it was thanks to Aarons work on the grinder and sander, Im a bit more of a wrench than a body man, the rest of the car was a poor attempt at Blue plasti-Dip that was put on a bit too thin (btw goo gone works wonders)

At the end of the day there was about an inch of bondo built up that was cut out, smoothed over and re-primered. 1 step closer, woot!

Factory lash tolerances?

If so, here you go:
http://forums.probetalk.com/showthread. ... t=sla+lash

Would you please get me the exact torque specs for the power steering rack of a GS? Every single piece of the rack/pinion unit itself, minus the power steering pump, please! :D

Thanks I already checked and tried posting there but to no avail, no viable hands on knowledge just ppl passing on miss information from a friends friend.

Ill do my best to get the specs for you for the rack bits as well, my lunch hour doesnt allow near enough time.

Although:

Factory Mazda Specs for a KLG4 SLA Valve clearance:
IN:.245-.315mm (.0097-.0124in)
EX: .265-.335mm (.0105-0.0131in)

Wonder why the PT guys engine messed up when he set them to .007-.009, corrected them, now just waiting on a call from interprep to get a second opinion on running them instead of HLAs before finalizing this

Change in plans, excessive shimming will make my SLAs unreliable, going HLA again and found a set of ZE cams that will go in.

This motor bill keeps getting more expensive the more its delayed...

Over due update, after a recent visit to a certain members orange car I became a bit overzealous on the way back up and my muffler seperated at the flange when I downshifted. Gotta love pacesetter weld quality. Anyhow, just so happened to have a spare axle back section from picking up the girls Mx in storage, so onward ho!

New Muffler sitting pretty, tips a bit different than the old one and boy is she quiet now. If i didnt know what was in her you ld never guess it was a full exhaust system header back/no cat - I swear its quieter than I remember the original or OEM for that matter!

And now for the Real Reason to update, there will no longer be a back seat in this car... because race car!

Step one, drill, lather with seam sealer, tighten.
Image

Step two, coat the whole area with 3m undercoating, oh and I blasted the drilled holes with some primer to be safe -yes I drive this year round through snow/rain/salt/dirt/tarmac/etc

yea kinda went with what I could afford at the time just never really upgraded em, but you sure do notice a difference in corners with the roll bar in, on ramps to and from work are a whole lot more fun nowadays
