gotcha man . hmm hows your spark ? is it very powerful or orange dull
also you could try this simple idea -- got it from other board memebers --
( open the Vris butterfly and close it on a piece of paper ) do this to both vris # 1 and # 2 go for a good run in 2nd gear that will allow the vris to open and if the paper is GONE the vris are working simple test
also another test it to start the car warm it up " no damage to engine " open hood then blurp the throttle via throttle body and watch the vris either open or not open from 1000 - 6000 they should have both opened up and closed when you let off the gas
also for your low qr mile times .. how does the car pull on the street through the gears does it feel sluggish ? does it feel rough running ?
and for no engine lights on - > at one time my bulb was burnt out and i just happened to scan it and i had 2 codes cyl 5 misfire P0305 and a EGR code becuase mine is not connected did you check the codes with a scanner OBDII
or paper clip in the DAIG box under the hood if OBDI and watch the check engine light flash and corrisponding flashes means what engine code it is .
hope i can be some help
