Quick question, how do you remove the throttle cable from the ATX on a b6? Checked the manuals and it merely says loosen bolt and remove and no luck, pics would be appreciated thanks

Is it just the two bolts and the rubber thing?

Loosen the bolt and wiggle/pull lots.

Yes Ive gotten the bolts all out and tried to remove it gently however my concern is where the cable goes into the transmission and how it hooks on so I dont damage anything removing it. I know GM trannys ussualy unhook off the detent cable but I am unsure on this one.

I'm unsure of which cable you mean now, its not the regular throttle cable, you mean the kick-down cable, or the gear selector cable.

One of these, on this page, or the next?

This is the selector cable...

The throttle cable, IK how it connects to the throttle body but where it goes into the transmission is what has me puzzled, theres two bolts that secure it to the case then as you pull it away all you see is the threaded steel cable going into the drivers front section of the case with no visable way to unhook it and Im not a fan of rebuilding a transmission so I dont feel like reaming it out with force.

yeah ryan its the cable that goes to the top of the throttle thing where the throttle cable hooks into on top of the IM. When i took my atx out i ended up snipping the cable since i don't need it for mtx but i was also unsure of how to get the cable out.

I'm not sure about the throttle cable thing, sorry, I've only had one ATX, and I hacked it out.

For dropping the motor, depends what tools you have. A hoist? out the bottom. A cherry picker? The top.

I have no idea...

Just looking at the online manuals, it is the same style of sensor, so its worth a shot. Its digital.

I actually lowered the steering column down. Um.. not sure of the complete details but the main part is the 4 bolts that are underneath the steering column trim. Like.. if your looking at the steering wheel, behind it ont he bottom. With that, and I think another bolt, the steering column drops.

Three quick questions.

1. how do i adjust the clutch pedal free play? (my pedal will "bounce" if you let off it too quick)

2. I have newer belts on the car and on cold starts the belt whines, how do i stop this?

3. I have very little heat, just flushed the fluid and very recently burped it and still no better, also if it helps when i let the car just idle for a min it will slowly start to over heat, only way to cool it back down is drive or turn the ac blower on and hit the ac switch.

Thanks for any and all help.
