Hmmmm, tough one, which is why there is a lot of cars here...

Lamborghini murcielago SV (Dream car)
2009 Mazda Miata Grand Touring Convertible Hardtop in titanium color (or competition yellow) with black leather interior
Yellow Porsche 911
BMW M series coupe
Black Lexus ISC250
White Lotus Elise
Red Mazda RX-8
Infiniti G coupe
MX3 (I know....first car I had and loved...though I wish I could get a 98 Eunos Presso)
Hyundai genesis coupe (I know. Hyundais suck, but I find this one sexy  ...and cheap)
VW GTI coupe (the only new hatchback that doesn't look like a mini minivan)

If you notice, I only like coupes (with the exception of the pseudo sedan rx8)
Elegant Beige 1992 Mazda MX-3 GS. CAI, Short throw shifter, 16" miata rims
1992 Mazda miata. Classic red, stock everything
RIP 1994 Mazda mx-3 RS

I didn't think of that. Other then the fact that hard pipes last longer, any real benefits?

When the plastic/rubber pipes get older, they crack and leak, boost pressure is lost, and you're losing metred air. Your car runs like a-- and will stall every chance it gets. It's too bad mitsus are like that. Keep on top of that timing belt! Once you throw teeth you throw valves.

That's why it's a bad idea to dump the bypass valve to atmosphere, my buddy did that, and to keep it running he buggered with the timing, Hi there valve, meet piston.

You mean that's an interference engine ON BOOST?
I don't really know much about mitsus, but that doesn't sound right...

Yeah, to say the least. I'm trying to imagine a scenario where you'd need to design an engine like that, or what could possibly be the advantage of doing so... :confused2:

Well imagine you know you are going to get laid off after you finish this design. I'd do something like that out of spite alone, or even just for the lulz.

Yeah the first time I heard it was an interference motor was when I was replacing the belts/hoses. I was like "..wait... really?"

But yeah.. it's interesting to say the least..

I've been reading a little, and the only thing that caught my attention is that it's a (fairly) short stroke engine.
Is it particularly high revving?

I bought my dsm three days after a fresh rebuild, did the hard pipes, already had the 16g upgrade. I upgraded to an aftermarket intake/exhaust, and rims. It was idling a little weird and since I was really noobish i bought it when he said it idled lumpy because of a lack of backpressure. Turns out it was timing. The belt snapped, and after a 3800 estimate, I gave the car to my mechanic in exchange for work on my mx3.
