Bodykits have been around for eons!! ahah. Not to mention the hoods were known for getting VERY yellowish with the heat produced after time!

What shows you planning on going in this summer? I may see you! :love2:

ohhhh.... well just watch cause those hoods are illegal for road use in Ontario! They have no crumple zones they just... well explode. but why would you wan't a see through hood, unless you want to "SHOW" it off?

Wouldn't a CF hood fit under the same category?

Yes and no mikey! Since the CF hoods were made from a complete mould of the original hood with crumple zones it was said to be fine, but we all know what happens to CF when it gets hit..... it pretty much explodes and becomes VERY sharp!. I remember on most of the plexi hoods there was a marking on them that said "for off road use only" BUT then some people can argue that the hood is not even a structural part of the car so is it really needed? (other then to keep the obveouse out)

Though the same thing can be said about my lambo hinges it has a BIG stamp on them when you open the door "for show use only". I am soon going to fill that stamp in so cops don't have a reason to question it.

So it's basicly it's at the cops discretion! :love2:

I don't even know of a company that makes them anymore that you could ask to see what material they use! :welder:

I bought red tinted bulbs for my clear side markers and they were "For off road use only" too.

Thats just the manufacturer covering thier butt because they didn't want to pay to get it legally approved (UL, CSA, SAE..). Doesn't mean the cops won't like it.... But I bet they'd find a reason for a clear hood.
