Re: Tweeter placement?

SuperK, how did you bracket your speakers so that they show without the cover?
when i say woofer im not speaking of the sub you knob. there is a huge difference between woofer and subwoofer. when you have components the speaker that is not the tweeter is called a woofer or a driver. if you want to get technical you are behind the wheel not in front of it. why do you thing so many tweeters come with swivel mounts or angled install rings. its not to look cool. granted when used correctly coolness can be acheived.Thassodar wrote:So by your logic they would be in the back seat, therefore the passengers would be getting the best sound out of the whole car. Who is in front of the steering wheel? The driver. Who wants the sound from the tweeter? The driver. Who's car is it? (hopefully) The drivers.
Please keep your "car audio" logic to yourself. We like our tweeters where they are, we can hear them just fine, and that's all that matters.
a-pillar pods are awesome when built correctly. you want to face them so they use the window as a baffle. it will help cascade the sound better thru the cabin. a lot like facing a sub to the rear instead of straight forward. if your in the drivers seat you don't want the drivers tweeter facing you. you want the passenger tweeter facing you or bouncing off the window in a manor to bounce at you. tweeters have a 30 degree range of sound. if you do tweets on the a-pillar i would recommend placing a 4" mid range there with it. it will sound 100 times better.s1zzl3 wrote:i was thinking about tweeter placement too for some type-x pro component speakers..
wat about placing them in the A-pillars with those single gauge pods they sell on ebay for right and left?
wouldn't that work too?
then that way they would be facing you.. would it make a difference?
Dude you honestly have no idea what you are talking about. Neuspeed helped me design my custom car audio stuff and before, I had my tweeters where everyone else had them, and I thought they sounded good. Then after I had pods build by neuspeed even before I amped the components they sound so much better!!! It was AMAZING!!Thassodar wrote:So by your logic they would be in the back seat, therefore the passengers would be getting the best sound out of the whole car. Who is in front of the steering wheel? I was drunk when I wrote that, sorry. I may have been a bit standoffish.neuspeedescort wrote: when i say woofer im not speaking of the sub you knob. there is a huge difference between woofer and subwoofer. when you have components the speaker that is not the tweeter is called a woofer or a driver. if you want to get technical you are behind the wheel not in front of it. why do you thing so many tweeters come with swivel mounts or angled install rings. its not to look cool. granted when used correctly coolness can be acheived.
you may be able to hear them just fine. but if you placed them in a true stage you would change your mind as to how good they sounded. im willing to bet your running your components off your deck also? before telling me how things are you should do some reading.
It belonged to another MX-3 owner who I believe sold his car. As a matter of fact I believe this is his old motor: http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/zip/1226492197.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;BuGS wrote:http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ ... opic=38200
There is the build thread for the pods. If you want Neuspeed custom makes them. He has made a couple sets already. PM him and he could hook you up.
And Thassodar did you not read what I posted??? I went from ones in the door, where everyone else had them to the pods. I heard the difference, and they sound so much better!! So I would ask for some proof for your claim that you were in another MX-3 were the tweet was next to the woofer, because I have only seen about 5 and none of them were in Texas... you got any pics???
