Exactly. PRM's probe weight just over 1800lbs. Quite the diet. As well, I asked him, he estimates that the motor work would cost around $30'000 for what he's got, but he's done most of the work himself so it only cost him a fraction of that.

ya me and john talked to the guy at cscs he seemd crazy but cool lol. making 280whp and 11k rpm... hits 11's at 123+- mph... thing has 100mm throttle body and engine bolted DIRECTLY to the frame lol there are like no mounts at all... runs stock trannies in which he keeps cracking the trans cases.. all in all the car iz koolio. also has nothing on his crank pulley side... no belts no pulley NOTHING which also is reason why it revs so fast... all he does have though is a magnetic pick up trigger for his digital 7 box

You can make it make as much power as your pockets can carry you. Hell, 400 whp is attainable if you've got 100 grand laying around.

I got 210 whp with mostly attainable parts (the thread is on PT somewhere). If I were to try and replicate that engine today I'd spend about $2000 on the bolt ons (the bottom end was stock ZE).

And Gerry Sica's PGT is at PRM, not PRD. Ken Schaffer with the turbo '96 PGT is at PRD.

i think for about 5-7 grand i can build a 250whp or close at least (+/- 5hp).
If you're looking to spend that sort of money, in my opinion at least it would be better invested in building a ZE for turbo use.

Cams, retainers, springs, standalone ? What else is involved.. Its not just throw ITB's on your car and its 250whp.

Leo, you need to post up more vids on youtube, the cellphone ones are no good and there is one good one that is a dyno vid.

if i remember when i first logged on in 2005 i read some threads about "hybrid motors" using domed pistons out of a ford 302 or using 300zx pistons by boring out the kl .030-.060 over and then using a rod for the same vehicle and having the crank ground to accept such a set up for a na build. my plan after i tear into my mx3 this winter for the third time for another ground up rebuild i plan to do a motor for about 5k send heads, intake, and cams to bullfrog racing (gude racing) for around 2k bore the block for the pistons, have the crank ground, rotating assembly balanced, 1mm oversized valves, titanium retainers, custom cam grind, 5 anlge grind job. should sit close to 280whp (goal) but i am doing more research on the piston sizes our stock bore is 2.936 really tiny so trying to find a piston is kinda hard. will keep you posted with findings

thats all really good but you can save some money iff the first thing you do is change the intake manifold sounds easy when are you going to start ?
