I totally agree. It's a sin to change the body that much. I'm ok with the kits and all that... Although I'd never put anything other than the mazdaspeed kit on my car.

To me, it's the same as putting a sr20det or sw in an mx. Congrats.. you've made your car a mongrel. Stuff like this should be put in the offtopic......... cuz you obviously don't want an mx3.

This site is about the enjoyment and celebration of the car. When you take out one of the most distinguishing features of the mx... you are no longer dedicated to what this site is all about.

The del sol hatch is the worst mod out there. All show and no go. I fully agree that anyone who even thinks about this fn mod is a RICER.

Go to offtopic or buy a del slow.

I would defenetly remove the hatch just to save some weight. I strip the car for the track btw.

just so you know, ive had this car for a total of what, 2 months...so if you wana call me a ricer because i have yet to drop in a klze..feel free..but i can also say ive spent much less on my car, than im sure you WASTED on yours...

a stock mx3 is not really a ricer.. i mean as long as its not all colorfull...


plus well or engines have ford written all over them.. even the klze engine.. so I just dont see how it can really be a ricer... also considering our platform is the ESCORT platform LOL

back in the day i used to think every jap car with a loud muffler was a ricer,,i dont see why anything should change just because i actually own one now...all this arguing amongst mx3 owners over the definition of a ricer is rediculous...go talk to the guys who drive american muscle and they will all tell you the same thing..your a RICER!!!!!!!!!! get over it.

oh and if you read the title of the thread..it sais mx3 NO HATCH..not mx3 del sol hatch...i didnt even kno the del sol lid was an option before this thread..doesnt mean im running out to do it..especially since my main goal was to have NO hatch..not replace the hatch...so jaun keep ur stupid comments to urself

I used to build American muscle cars, and think any car (that wasn't a sportscar) that had mods that cost more than the car was a Ricer. Now I see that my philosophy (Hot Rod what you've got) applies to modern cars as well.

I would drive around without the hatch, if I didn't live in Rainville! I had a '72 Cutlass in Arizona that I drove for a couple of years with the roof cut out, just above the windows.
