I just transfered my EGR from my K8 to my KLZE, why can't one be transfered to a DE? Secondly, the garage may have good intentions but I'd suggest you take your car else where and get a seond opinion. I got a bad feeling about that situation, they seem quick to spend your money. I also know you can change the 1.8 EGR to the ZE but judging from the pics on my system the DE is much different BUT.. the mounting holes are the same some hoses are different but they will bolt up! Yet the function for the emissions is different.

Bad to hear that. So no chance of putting DE EGR to K8 without complications. My used EGR has 21k kms, it looks like new and my old one is damaged.

EGR Valve is pricey,

They are located right beside the Exhaust Heatsheild on the back back side.
Cost $300-600 (Depending where you get it from)

And in my experience a 1996 does NOT fit a 1994.

yes its working - its from the K8 i swapped out. whats the going rate for a used one?

I also have a DE EGR that is in decent shape that I'm selling for 70USD shipped anywhere in the US if anyone needed one. More of course if shipped to Canada.
