Update: There is a quarter sized hole in my block. Right under the rear head I wonder if my heads are still good ?

the metal chunks are not just in the pan . they were circulated with the oil and are in the valve train & valve guides. so yes your heads are junk. or it will cost more to repair them than buying another ze. thats why i asked you for them. so i could plag with some scraped heads.
