if at all you ever get worried about scraping it. which you are not at all. and i probably wouldent be either, but you could always put a small skid pan in front of it. and tack it to the crossmember. one shouldent be running into curbs anyways

yea i could do that..but i probably wont. I just hope i dont have to drive in any realllly bad rodes anytime soon. The rodes around here are pretty good for the most part.

I just dont get the reasoning behind not hacking the crossmember.
You get a better fit and clearance with less bends. Whats the problem?
