The rally car in the pic above is mine & that's me there with it. The reason it's got V6 Astina brake hardware, apart from the fact that they're physically bigger brakes, is that the guys who built the car also had a V6 Astina rally car & I reckon they wanted interchangeable parts. Next time I've got the wheels off I'll get some pics of the set-up.

oops, forgot to read all posts before replying....again

It's not that easy to find the bits here either guys....Japan might be the best bet, unless they were more common in New Zealand.

Another benefit is that 15" rims still fit, although that's the Astina 16" rims on it in the photo, and it's got Pagid racing pads...not sure if they make them for the MX-3, but by Christ it's got some serious stopping power!

Food for thought. Even, if we were to find some Astina parts how in the hell would we get replacement pads... ?

If we could get factory part numbers, we could possibly cross reference with something else as far as pads, rotors, and calipers are concerned. Maybe not though. The Astina may have a unique braking system only associated with that car only, similar to the rear brake calipers on the Mx-3 GS.

I would like to see some photos.. I'm definitely interested. 8)

Yeah, Mazda was totally wierd about sharing parts. Our cars share a good bit, but the unique rear brake calipers really don't make any sense.

Everythings almost identical with the exception of the begining 4 characters (EA and BO for example). It looks like we could still use our spindles. We would need the hub and bearing. Are the calipers, pads, and rotors similar to anything we can get in the N.A. market?

I forgot you had the parts catalog Perry. Good job. :D
