I never waxed my hood and if you dont want it to fade get like a grade A or a triple A CF hood leaveing it out of the sun helps to =)

I didnt wax my hood until atleast 4 months after I got it. And I use Meguiar's carnumba wax, its clearcoat safe. I was told what to use by a painter I used to work for.

Its like they used 1 coat of clearcoat. If I wax it now, it will be fine, then a week later, bam, foggy again.

Oh... and it was a grade A hood.

mine needs to be compounded its ruff like a piece of sand paper but not a foggy problem

you try to polish it yet?

maybe its dull b/c its just old..u've had it for like 2 years anyways. Polishing 2x a year will make it look new all the time

o yea.. most places try to save money by building the frame pieces (under part) out of fiber glass, just cuz its stronger than CF. in reality, you'd have to layer the cf tons of times to make sure it's heavy duty enough, and that stuff is so damn expensive. it's all composite materials, so i dont see what the big deal is. :? but it would be better to have all carbon or kevlar under there.
