I've got a nice machined delrin plug to plug the hole. $15 shipped to whoever wants it.

i cant believe that this topic went so far :confused2:

there is little or no difference from what I noticed... and what exactly does it hurt to keep? I dont see all the fuss of removing it.

it makes it easier to get at the distributor and empties out the engine bay a bit.

Sorry to revive such an old thread :p

I have a completely standard intake - how much noisier is it going to be if I remove this item and fill the hole up with something...?

My friends have Celica's and theirs are plugged with nice metal plates, is it easy to get one of these for ours?

not very, you might hear a noticalbe "grumble" when you give it more than 1/2 throttle or WOT but if you are just driving normally you won't hear anything.,

Hell with my CAI and 2.5" straight-thru exhaust my car is quieter than stock when cruising IF i have the silencer in the muffler. I remember my car being louder with the stock intake/exhaust.

only when I gun the throttle do I hear a nice god-like rumbling from the intake :)

I may not notice it then, I have a flippin' loud exhaust on the car  (its got to be done when you have a V6 eh? :D )

might give it a go though, all the same. Just need to find something to sit in there and seal the hole up nicely
