however a friend of mine out here in sudbury said that it helps to run a ecu from a mx6 with the KLZE engine. he had some weird idling and engine was "boggy" then he swaped the mx3 ecu for the mx6 ecu and run perfect now. but i think that my friend is one of those special cases =P

Ya...way to revive a 9 year old thread...9 years old, really?
No, the Mx-3 ECU will not properly run a KLZE, why? Cause it's programmed for a 1.8L motor, weird eh? He's not a special case, they ALL don't run right when running the Mx-3 (OBDI) ECU.
Ya, he somewhat fixed the problem putting in the Mx-6 ECU, but it's not a complete fix. You still need to run the Mx-6 VAF (airflow sensor) since the Mx-6 ECU is set to take readings from that one. The Mx-3 sensor is different.
Combos:
KLDE ECU & KLDE VAF (VRIS not optimal for curved-neck intake manifold)
KLZE ECU & MX-3 VAF (VRIS not optimal for curved-neck intake manifold)
Probinator Chip & MX-3 VAF (Programmed to what intake and VAF you're using)
Funny the things that we've figured out in 9 years, lol.

Is there a "time machine" function in the search, like a checkbox or something that I don't see?

Hey Dave is that really you??? I read your engine swap write up 20 times before I did my swap in 2007. Can't believe your actually back here. Drop by more often will ya, we still need and miss some of the old vanguard. Dan
Knockout. You really need to do a little work yourself. This topic has been beat to death. There's so much information both here and by Googling to expect us to rehash this topic is ridiculous. Do your home work and then come back and usk us specific questions if your still not sure. I'm not trying to be rude but really, all the information is here in a multitude of posts. Search.
