Well what are your goals.. going v6 will cost a purty penny.. sticking with a 4 banger can net good results and save ya some time..
how much of the work will you be doing yourself
are you wanting to stay n/a or go turbo.. Are you considering Nirtous.. What are your goals (be reasonable) can you affoard a new transmission if you race the car hard?

I wont be able to do any of it myself because I have no where to do it.. I might be able to get a buddy of mine to do it for me but I just dont know.. I was thinking that I would stay n/a because with a turbo it is alot of messing around and no one really knows what the heck they are doing when it comes to the nos.. I allready have a kit bought but I am selling it again because it is too mysterious and no know knows how to install it properly.. I was just hoping for a straight swap with very little trouble.. I have this car as I daily driver so I dont know what to do.. I would like to have a turbo but there is no way that I could get one put in the car here.. Besides dont you have to forge your pistons and all that? How much would a turbo run do you think? In canadian dont forget..

there has to be escort gts around you, if not call up engine land in montreal and order a j-spec protege engine from them and get it shiped to you
shipping might cost 200 and the engine maybe 1000
then get a shop to install it
it'll cost around 800 then you gonna put all new gaskets, belts and crap so it total it's gonna be around 3000

Hehehe turbos and nitrous are not so difficult or mysterious. Forged pistons work really well for aplications that need to endure hardship.. Hate to break it to ya but your motor is already chop full of them.
there are a couple of turbo and n/a swaps available for ya though.. All of which are very direct swaps.

i was about to say that a b6t swap might be the best thing. Should be a very direct swap and all you really need is a custom exhaust setup from what i've heard(or atleast custom downpipe).
Might wanna consider it since as far as ive seen corksport sells the engine for $800

aye plus its not a jspec engine.. you can look around in local junk yards and prolly find one.

You see the serious problem here is that no one really knows about anything.. The junk yards here would only have engines that would be out of a regular mx-3 that is probally rusted to $hit. I would not say that there are many j-spec engines floating around here.. I will have to send away for one if I want j-spec. Dont forget that I live in Newfoundland Canada... God, all it does here is snow and get cold. I think that I am going to have to move out of this $hit hole!

Did you use to drive a Honda? just wondering...the klze is probaly the worst choice in this case..he has a 4 cylinder....it would be way too much hassle putting a 6 cylinder under the hood of a 4 cylinder car.

I have SOHC automatic. I want to put the BP engine and keep it automatic. Would the tranny bolt right into the BP? I don't want a stick shift. Thanx in advance.
later,
dee

Standard is so much fun.. I only got a sohc and I got a standard and it may no be fast but it is still fun as hell to drive..

Yeahgoing v6 is the wrong choice no a limited budget.. Unless you get your labor for free you are shooting yourself in the foot.
You would likly need everything under the hood.. A BP would tear up a b6 tranny in no time if it matched up.
You can swap in a BPT or B6T fairly easily.. Check with www.corksport.com for info on it.
