Re: Boston Public Street Racing
I get lucky and have a quarter mile and a road course less than five miles away from me. Maybe thats why NOBODY street races here. We have beem struck with too many street racing deaths. It is definately not worth my life or the kid that gets hit minding his own business as he plays on teh sidewalk. Keep this in mind when that Integra revvs up on you in the next lane.

Re: Boston Public Street Racing
There's a track that's pretty close to me 15min or so, and other tracks in the general area as well. It DOESN'T keep people from street racing much. Even when someone in my neighboor hood got killed I still see a lot of people spoiling for a race. I despise hearing the eclipse that drives around my neighboor hood with his LOUD exaust (it's illegal here, but they don't enforce)....
I've got to say this: If think your car is good, take it to the track & race against serious people who might appreciate a fast car & good driver.

Re: Boston Public Street Racing
I know how I am. I don't want to race on streets. Hey, I even want to take out the license from my car when I'll do her swap.
I think that modified cars must live on tracks, and no where else. I'll have to ride her there at first, but I am crazy enough to look for a Truck to move my car..
When I ride, I prefer a car between 60-140 hp. I know how I feel with more power. Less power, I tend not to push to much that gaz pedal.
A race is an event. An event is watch upon, got rules, and specific goals. Put it illegal, and you take all the goals, the rules.. and there is no supervision. Too much risks involved.
Final word, take it to the tracks. And if there is no tracks, be extreme, build one.

Re: Boston Public Street Racing
Ya after the fast and the furious the media is having a feild day with street racing every kid out there is trying to be a racer, it makes me sick.
i'll admit that was my goal when i first got involved with fixing up my ride but as time went on i saw that its pointless and dangerous. I still enjoy to drive my Mx-3 fast because its fun , but I never race with it.
as kids start to become aware of the true joy of fixng up a car they wont understand that street racing is not what we do it for.

Re: Boston Public Street Racing
In my opinion, 100% without a doubt, I say take it to the tracks!
Think about how guilty, shameful, Despised, you would feel if you killed someone while trying to beat a honda? Then multiply that by 1,000,000 times! Personally i could not live with myself.
But it being a race against time, sorry Barry I have to disagree, last time I went to the track I raced my buddy with an IS300, and I beat him in time and distance. Then when my Best friend raced the IS300 (twice in my car) he beat him in distance, but lost in time?
** Not to come off as pro. street racing but...**
If you beat someone on the street, you win, no excuses, you had your chance, you blew it, you lost.

Re: Boston Public Street Racing
i must admit that i tend to speed a little, but who doesnt? i used to attend races but down here in s. cali you can get arrested now for just watching. im more of a show person but that speed fever is kicking in again. we have a track here at qualcomm where there are legal races and ive raced some of my friends on it and we're in the same category. its really fun, just kinda weird with almost 250 people parked at the side watching you. i love it when i get to roll in my rexxy though =D

Re: Boston Public Street Racing
Driving is fun especially when your going fast but there's a limit to speed. If you can't control speed then there will be some big problems. I drive fast and have been in close situations where I almost saw the light.
I could tell story but some may not believe or not allow but my point is if you have that feeling to drive fast, just remember this there are family vans, elder people and people that can't drive and you'll freak them out and creat accidents for you and others. If it is just you and the *** *****, smoke his and not if you can't do that tailgate *** .
Maybe i'll tell you a litte story. I was rushing to work and I accidently cut this person off, he got pissed off and chased me to work. He got out off his car and wanted to fight but then he backed out because he saw many people go to work.
The next day i saw him again but this time he cut me off. I got pissed but didn't chase him cause i'm gonna end my life for stupid thing.

Re: Boston Public Street Racing
i just participated in my first autox event today, and those 4 runs, without a doubt, were more enjoyable than any street race i've been in.
-i've raced a few times on the street and its just plain stupid. there are TOO many factors that aren't under control.
i highly reccomend you all try out soloII!
hey, where else are you gonna beat modded turbo-charged cars with a stock Mazda?!?!
btw- Protege DX >Eclipse GS-T
