Battery

Post by mx32b »

I haven't got a clue where to post this so I figured off-topic. Anyway, I went to start up my moms van (98 Caravan) and I get all sorts of wierd electrical problems, and no start. So we figure it's the battery, hook up a voltmeter and find it's 2.2V lower then it should be. Later we boosted it, got the engine running and drove around for say 10 minutes and then the battery light came on on the dash.
Retested the voltage and it's still 2.2V low. So anyways, if we just buy a new battery and that fixes it, are the problems over with, or do we need to take it to the dealership and see why the battery died so suddenly and without warning? (No lights were left on overnight or anything)
Thanks
