E-Brake Light Coming ON on Fast Sharp Corners...?

Post by Shades »

Anyone have this happen or know the solution?
I just put on a new set of Nexen N2000 tires (excellent tires by the way) and when I go around a corner fast my e-brake light comes on... anyone know why and how to fix it?
...AND Yes, I know going around the corner slower will not make it come on... but sometimes I like to take the corner fast, YA!

I had my clutch fixed a month ago I think. About a few weeks my ebrake light keeps on coming off and on. Mine does it everytime I usually shift. I mean I know its not up because I always put it completely down. If anyone knows whats up with mine I could use the info. Thanks

Ummm, I haven't had the problem in my MX-3, but I know some cars will do that if your brake fluid level is low. I'd check that, otherwise, I dunno.

You can check the lil connection thingy for the ebrake sensor, I know mine was made loose after I took off my handle to paint it, It's right under the arm rest thing in your car, there is 2 screws in the back of it and 2 at the front of it which hold it to the part where your shifter comes out.
Good luck

I think it is the brake fluid too. My braake warning light comes on (mostly when it is cold), so I checked the fluid, and it is about half way between the full and low lines on the resevoir. Just have to go to Canadian Tire and pick up some fluid, and then see if the light comes on.

Fluid is one possiblity, the other which happened on my old MX was the brake pads were low. the light came on around corners or went off depending on what it felt like doing.

Yeah that fixed the problem... I topped up the brake fluid... funny, something simple like that makes one anoying light come on.

damn i never thought about the fluid. i had the same problem as these guys. So when i took out my guage pod one time i just removed the bulb that lit it up. thats my solution but i should prolly check my fluid now just so if im parked on a really steap hill i dont have any E-brake failures.

quote:
from coreyi hade that prob with my mx-3 alot also i had to replace my master cylinder i dont think its anything to do with ur tires its prob just low brake fluid. just refill it then watch for a while and if it drops back down then have it checked out cause ur seals on ur master cylinder might be bad. i actually made money on my master cylinder cause it cost 48 bucks to get a new one then they gave me 50 bucks core charge for the old one.

its that sensor on the reservoir that sets the light when there isn't any fluid on it. Such as cornering quickly, braking quickly, or accelerating quickly.
