mazda aftermarket companies ripping us off?

Post by marshmallow15 »

hey guys. i was just looking at prices for body kits for other cars because i might be trading in my mx3 because it breaks down a lot...and ive noticed that the price for most body kits for cars such as civics, preludes, 240sx, and even an s2000 bodykit costs as much as one fxdesigns front bumper....i mean i know the mx3 aftermarket isnt booming which can explain the high prices, but these things are only fiberglass or urethane and are being ordered a lot now. what do you guys think?

I know it pisses me off. They probably buy them for half or even more then that and make huge profit. I mean has anyone ever thought of having a mass email to aftermaket places making them make more. I mean I would love to have a black widow or dragon hood and some z3 fenders. I mean if we could get like 50 or more email maybe they think they need to get it in are application.
I sort of felt like selling my mx-3. I mean a civic is so cheap and the full body kit is only $500, except I see so many around. I just rather fix up my mx-3 even though I know its going to cost way more. Atleast I think of it is that are car is alot better meaning no so many around like civics and integras. :D

Yeah, I think I might sell my mx-3. I mean I want to get an accord 94-97 or a civic 99-00. I really love my mx-3 its my first car, but theres not much to do to it unless you are great at mechanics. :(

But if you buy a honda then you'll just be like everyone else. It sucks that we have to pay so much for aftermarket parts but I'm not trading my mx-3 for another car just because it's easier.
However, I agree with the mass e-mail.
e

I have to say, HONDA SUCKS. But some therapists could state that I'm saying that out of jealousy. At which point my eye would twitch and I'd lunge at them.
The issue, however, isn't that honda is so mainstream that they suck (which they do), but that they mass produce cars that are easily modded. It's their mass production that makes it so inexpensive to work on one, as well as the availablity for engines and parts. The only thing majorly wrong with Honda/Acura is that they won't release their codes. In a way someone could say people are jealous of Honda for their possiblities. I'd laugh at them though, as I can beat a modified civic going uphill while I'm in third gear running my AC on high.

Civic, Integra, Eclipse, Focus you have any of these cars...you can find so much sh!t its ridiculous. What mazda car do you see almost everyone driving around in..? Here in Long Island MX-3s are rare and hooked up MX-3s are snow leopards, so I feel good knowing there isnt anyone for miles around with my car.

I was looking around and took a hard look at my car and I don't think I could sell it unless I really have to. I LOVE MY MX-3. I don't have any bodykit yet but I love it. I really hope they come out with a good rear bumper though.
So please I hope I didn't lose any respect from you guys if I had any. I mean I loved this car since my brother bought it in 94. Now its mine and I want to make it an masterpiece. :D

I know what how you feel about being the only person with an MX3 around. Even here in Atlanta, seeing a hooked up MX3 is rare as hell, I was the only kid at my HS that had one, everyone else drove Civic's and Jeeps. Thats a lot of the reason I love my MX3 so much, their not very popular, yet their are a very good car. Even when I'm like 30 and drive another car and have a wife, I definately know I'm still gonna have my MX3 in my driveway. =)
Matt

its all about supply and demand.
thats why we pay so much for aftermarket parts, one thing that made me made was the fact that i just paid about $350 for a hatch garnish mind you this isnt an aftermarket part but its still a hell of a lot of cash for such a small part. Sure go out and buy a civic or whatever be like every other person out there. Now I live in subury ontario and i have yet to see a good looking mx-3 driving around besides mine most people dont even know what the hell they are. I did see one black mx-3 driving on the highway near my house but i havnt seen it since it was probably going to TO. anyway Mx-3's kick some major a$$ sure it cost more to work with em but its way more fun. way the good with the bad and the good always wins :)
